CODETIVE Pawel Boguta (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Voyy (“the App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive basic profile information provided by those services (name, email, and profile image if available).
Travel Data You Provide
You manually enter travel information including countries visited, US states visited, trip dates, and your home country. Voyy does not use GPS, device location services, or any form of automatic location tracking. All geographic data is selected by you.
Preferences
We store your app preferences such as your display name, home country, timezone (detected from your device settings), and notification preferences.
Push Notification Tokens
If you opt in to push notifications, we collect your device push token and device name to send you trip reminders. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings or within the App.
Usage and Analytics Data
We collect anonymous usage data through PostHog, including features used, onboarding progress, session information, and app performance data. This helps us understand how the App is used and improve the experience.
Device Information
We collect basic device information including device type, operating system version, and app version for compatibility and debugging purposes.
Subscription Information
If you subscribe to a premium plan, we receive subscription status information from Apple through RevenueCat (our subscription management provider). We do not directly collect or store your payment details.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the App's features, including trip tracking, travel statistics, and calendar visualization
- Sync your travel data across devices
- Display travel data in iOS home screen widgets
- Send trip reminders via push notifications (with your consent)
- Send trial reminder emails related to your subscription
- Process and manage subscriptions
- Improve the App based on usage patterns
- Respond to your feedback and support inquiries
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We share your information with the following service providers who help us operate the App:
- Convex — backend database and real-time data sync
- Apple — authentication (Apple Sign-In) and subscription payment processing
- Google — authentication (Google Sign-In)
- RevenueCat — subscription management and payment processing
- PostHog — anonymous usage analytics
- Expo — push notification delivery
- Resend — transactional email delivery (trial reminders)
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect our rights.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your travel data is stored both locally on your device (using encrypted storage) and on our secure cloud servers for syncing. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure keychain. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your trips, preferences, push tokens, feedback, and account data from our servers. Subscription records may be retained as required by payment processing regulations. Anonymous analytics data may be retained according to PostHog's data retention policies.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to: access your personal information; correct inaccurate information; delete your account and associated data; withdraw consent for push notifications; object to data processing; request data portability.
You can delete your account directly within the App through Settings. To exercise other rights, contact us at support@voyapp.com.
7. Push Notifications
With your permission, we send push notifications to remind you about upcoming trips and travel updates. You can enable or disable notifications at any time through your device settings or within the App. When you disable notifications or sign out, your push token is deactivated on our servers.
8. No Location Tracking
Voyy does not request or use GPS, Wi-Fi, or any other device location services. All country and state data in the App is manually selected by you. We collect your device timezone from system settings solely for timezone-aware trip date calculations.
9. Photo Library Access
The App may request access to your photo library solely to save exported travel calendar images, map images, or shareable travel profile cards to your device. We do not upload, analyze, or store your photos on our servers.
10. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
11. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States, where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
